Mike Young is a cartoonist, teacher, and glasses-wearer based in New York City.
I am excited to launch this project, “Robot Teacher,” a comic strip that follows the misadventures of a robot designed to be the greatest educator of all time! This project is the latest in a series of cartooning initiatives I have launched over the years. Previously, I have developed:
- comic books
- humor magazines
- caricatures
- comics travelogues
- children’s books
- TV show pitches
I am currently a High School Visual Arts teacher and find inspiration from interacting with students. In a sense, this comic bridges two of my passions – teaching and art – into something completely new.
Why am I launching this now?
- By keeping a blog, I can share my work with an online audience, hopefully entertain, and receive your feedback!
- I would love to connect with other creators, artists, and educators, if this comic resonates with you
- To gain a widespread, global audience!
I’m looking forward to seeing where this goes. While I have branched out into other media over the years, it’s been a long time since I have created an ongoing comic strip. In a sense, this is me returning to my roots, going back to basics, as the kid who read the comic strips in the newspaper every day and dreamed of becoming a comic strip artist.
Let’s make something together.
